In Cleveland from the athletes, to musicians, to the everyday working man, the city has always had alot of camaraderie.

That is no more evident from the relationship that has seemed to formed between Cleveland Browns Josh Cribbs and Bad Boy recording artist Machine Gun Kelly, who both rep the city they call home to the fullest.

Cribbs who celebrated a birthday on June 9th was invited on stage by Machine Gun Kelly during his Cleveland performance. Below is a video of how their relationship has come to be what we see today.

We all know the financial troubles that are following Warren Sapp if not, go here ==> BlackSportsOnline. So with desperation comes desperate moves, one of those moves is hosting a you tube reality court show. Now I have no problem with his outside the box thinking ways of making money.

What I do have an issue with is the terribleness of this show. It’s so bad, that it’s funny. Yes I know reality TV is scripted, however, the acting is bad beyond words even on reality TV scale.

Sapp scribbling on his notepad as if he’s really taking notes doing the ‘judge like thing’ had me burst out laughing. I doubt that I’ll ever watch this again, but whenever I’m feeling down, I’ll go to this page, and I’ll have laughs for hours. If you haven’t seen the video check it out below and enjoy the comedic relief.

While many think Cleveland fans have yet to move on from LeBron and his decision, I’d say people won’t stop mentioning Cleveland when they talk about LeBron. However, in the video below hometown favorites rap artist Machine Gun Kelly and Cleveland Brown Josh Cribbs converse about LeBron and how they could never see themselves abandoning Cleveland as their home.

Cribbs also goes to allude that LeBron was on the ‘wrong path’ when he chose to go to Miami. I wonder if he feels the same now that LeBron has won his first title?

The only thing I would question about this video, Cribbs and LeBron are still friends, from time to time you’ll see a picture of them together pop up. With Cribbs making such remarks, just comes off a little as pandering to your current fan base.

After Brandon Jacobs was released by the New York Giants 6 year old fan Joseph Armento decided to make his best attempt to have his favorite stay on his favorite team. After his mom explained to him Jacobs was leaving because of money, he emptied out his piggy bank and sent the tailback his last $3.36.

Upon receiving the gesture, he promised to lil Joseph and told him, he would take him and his 4 year old brother with him and his own son Brayden to Chuckie Cheese.

Mom Julie Armento told The Sacremento Bee how much the boys enjoyed their day with Jacobs;

“He told me he really wanted to get out there with the kids, he really wanted to enjoy it, and he did. It was amazing. When we first spoke, he said that he was genuinely touched by the letter, that it almost brought him to tears. He said it came at just the right time for him.”

49er Jacob cited the letter as a form of motivation, and something that boosted his own confidence;

“I’m at a point in my career when people have stopped believing in me and not believing that I can still play. But that’s not the case. Joe believes in me, gave me a lot of confidence and a lot of want-to. And I’m ready to go. I can’t wait until the season starts.”

While the Jacobs and the kids ended up going to a bounce house in New Jersey, the young Armentos will have a story they can tell forever. Along with that Jacobs gave them a signed helmet and $5 to put in his piggy bank.

No matter what you may think of the football player Brandon Jacobs is, that was a pretty cool thing to do for a young fan. Many times we label players from their play on the field and actions like this get forgotten and that there’s more to the sports than just the game.

Seattle themed miami heat logo

For those who don’t know by now, the Oklahoma City Thunder used to be the Seattle SuperSonics and after failing to come to an agreement on the building of a new arena with city government, ownership decided to move the team.

While I understand the hurt Seattle fans feel for not having their team any longer, from experiencing losing the Browns to Baltimore. However, just like I said about Cleveland Fans, this is corny, it’s lame, and its fair weather at its highest point.

If you’re mad about your former squad being in the finals fine, cool. However, stop with the logos, and shirts and everything else that is extra. Root for the Miami Heat all you want to beat the team that left you high and dry, but don’t be bitter and wack with it. There’s no reason for funky props to show your support.

You come off as the jealous ex, that still isn’t over it, still pining over the details that caused the split, instead of moving forward and looking for someone new.

At some point we have to let these things go, and if you’re not gonna let it go, at least go cry in the car, not on the stage.

Plenty of people have a bucket list of things they want to accomplish and football players are no different. Jason Babin defensive lineman for the Philadelphia Eagles tells the Philadelphia Inquirer that he wants to travel to Spain and run with the bulls. To the question of why would one want to run with the bulls Babin had this to say;

“It’s kind of a rite of passage it’s a stamp. I guess in my brain I have a figurative ‘man card’ that’s got certain punches that need to be punched out.”

Babin also has answers to those who say it’s dangerous and he shouldn’t risk potential injury;

“Everyone thinks it’s dangerous and hazardous, but it’s not, if done correctly and soberly. Bulls can’t turn the corner on cobblestone, so as long as you’re on the inside you’re going to be all right, I broke the tape down like game film.”

Now I’ve never wanted to run with the bulls, to damn dangerous in my opinion, however that’s what makes athletes different. Their thought process is not the same, and in some areas they’re more fearless, and that’s what allows them to be more successful in their field. So if he wants to do it then go ahead more power to ya. Hopefully he doesn’t get injured and if he’s studied tape of it like he would do Tony Romo then he should be fine. I mean he’s an eagle so I’m sure if he gets in trouble he can just fly away.

Players play their entire career for primarily two things, money to take care of their family, and to win a championship. When a team wins a championship they’ll usually give their employees a bonus, even better they’ll give them a championship ring too.

Well apparently one Green Bay Packer employee would’ve opted for the money, as team Employee Sarah Pace sold her Super Bowl XLV ring to a pawn shop in Grand Chute, Wisconsin according to ProFootballTalk.com. It was purchased by 71 year old Packer fan Dennis Brucks. As for how he feels about now having an authentic Super Bowl ring he had this to say;

“When you want something relating to the Packers, how can you get any better than this?”

Must be pretty cool to have that type of memorabilia, and couple that with witnessing the Ice Bowl in 1967 live he’s just about done everything there is for a Packer fan to do.

However, I know this has to make some all time greats that never won a ring salty that Pace would sell off their piece of history when they spent their entire career chasing the ultimate goal. Hopefully Pace isn’t going through grave financial troubles and that’s why she sold it. Perhaps she just isn’t a football and just didn’t see that value in keeping it.

After OTA’s Dolphins first year coach Joe Philbin announced that the Dolphins will be featured on the newest season of HBOs’ Hard Knocks.

When asked about the reasons they chose to be featured on the show Philbin had this to say;

“Number one it was a football decision and it was made by the football operations staff. Our owner, Steve Ross, supported our decision but in no way, shape or form forced us to make this decision. I’m personally very excited about it and I shared my thoughts about it with our football team this morning. It’s a football show and it’s a show that’s going to showcase our players and the great group of men that we have assembled here in Miami as they go through training camp.

“The second thing is I think it’s a great opportunity for us to connect with our fans and to the people that aren’t going to be able to come out here on a daily basis in 110-degree heat index weather and watch our guys participate in training camp. The third thing is I think it’s a chance for us to show the new direction, the identity of this football team, where we’re headed and at the same time also connect with our past and the great history, tradition and heritage that we have here in Miami.” Courtesy of MiamiDolphins.com

The show will air its first episode on August 7th and will air on Tuesdays for 5 four hour episodes.

While the Dolphins may end up being an entertaining team for the world to see, as of today, besides Reggie Bush, I see nothing entertaining about this team. My choice would’ve been the New York Jets. Tim Tebow, Rex Ryan, it would’ve been a disaster waiting to happen, and I’m all for disaster and chaos in situations like these. Though I understand why the Jets would turn down the opportunity, I think it would’ve been a ratings bonanza.

Nonetheless, I will watch, since Reggie Bush is on the team we’ll get a Kim Kardashian cameo. I think that’s a backfield we can all enjoy.

Man of my Word

I, sole proprietor of JbSmooth84.com am an honorable guy. I pay my taxes, help old ladies cross the street. I mean I’m a good dude. So I’m here to pay my debt. I lost a bet to a guy on Twitter named Keith (@brksfromthepnd).

The bet was, whether Tim Tebow would win a playoff game or not. Well… I took the he would not side of that bet and well I have to now pay the piper.

Let this be a lesson, there’s no such thing as a sure bet.

The payback; I had to take a picture ‘Tebowing’. So because the Pittsburgh Steelers decided to play the worse defense ever, I’m here to pay off my debt.

The Cleveland Browns made waves earlier in the day when they traded up to with the Minnesota Vikings to get the guy they wanted in Trent Richardson. Well the Browns weren’t done making noise in the draft as they selected Oklahoma State quarterback Brandon Weeden.

Many scouts and mock drafts had Weeden being selected in the 2nd; however the Browns chose to get their guy before anybody else had the chance to snatch him off the board.

As evident by today’s action, the Browns were bound and determined to get the guys they wanted, and they landed both of them.

With the Browns drafting Weeden in the first round, all signs point to Colt McCoy not being the incumbent starter and Weeden having a legit shot at starting on opening day. Weeden will hopefully have some more weapons alongside him and Richardson to help turn around an offensive that was dreadful last season.

With all the activity the Browns have shown thus far, it’ll be interesting to see how they proceed with the 2nd round of the NFL Draft. They still need a wide receiver and help on the right side of the offensive line, so let’s see what Gm Tom Heckert does to upgrade the team.

Below are the picks the Browns have remaining in the 2012 NFL Draft.

Round 2, Pick 5 (37)

Round 3, Pick 4 (67)

Round 4, Pick 5 (100)

Round 5, Pick 25 (160) (From Broncos)

Round 6, Pick 34 (204) (Compensatory selection), Round 6, Pick 35 (205) (Compensatory selection)

Round 7, Pick 38 (245) (Compensatory selection), Round 7, Pick 40 (247) (Compensatory selection)
