R. Kelly owes the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) early $5 million in unpaid taxes dating as far back as 2005.

According to TMZ Kelly, here is what Kelly neglected to pay;

2005 – $1,472,366.77

2006 – $710,520.51

2007 – $376,180.11

2008 – $1,122,694.90

2009 – $173,815.18

2010 – $992,495.24

A total of $4,848,072.71.

A rep for Kelly tells TMZ, “R. Kelly is in the process of working everything out with the government and is confident that all his obligations will be satisfied.”

Kelly’s rep didn’t offer an explanation for why the singer stopped paying his taxes. I understand the life of a celebrity can be busy and hectic but how in the world can someone just forget to pay their taxes for seven years. Considering the large amount of money Kelly has made over the years, it makes you wonder why he didn’t pay his taxes. What would the reason for him to not pay? You think Kelly just blew threw all the money he’s made from 2005-2010?

Actress and comedian Yvette Wilson has lost her fight with cervical cancer and kidney disease on June 14, 2012. She passed at the age of 48. A friend of Wilson, Jeffrey Pittle, told CNN that she passed away on Thursday around 7 p.m.

After a start in stand-up comedy where she appeared on HBO’s “Def Comedy Jam”Wilsonlanded her first acting roles in the 1993 ABC sitcom “Thea” and in the films “House Party 3,” “Friday” and “Poetic Justice.”Wilsonwas best known for her character Andell Wilkerson on the sitcom “Moesha” in 1996. She also played Andell on the “Moesha” spin-off “The Parkers”.

I hope this story would be a warning to young women. According to WebMD

Most cervical cancer is caused by Human Papillomavirus (HPV). You can get HPV by having sexual contact with someone who has it. You can have HPV for years and not know it. It stays in your body and can lead to cervical cancer years after you were infected. A Pap test can find changes in cervical cells before they turn into cancer. If you treat these cell changes, you may prevent cervical cancer.

It is very important for young women to make sure you visit your primary care physician and get tested. If there are any abnormalities in a Pap smear, there is a greater chance to prevent any cervical cells developing into cervical cancer if found early. The HPV vaccine will help protect against two types of HPV for those ages 9-26 years old. Coming from someone who has had abnormalities show on a pap smear and recently received the HPV vaccine, I urge everyone to make sure you get tested and be attentive to your health.

It’s been five years since ABC Anchor Robin Roberts announced to the world that she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Since then she battled and beat the disease.

On June 11, 2012 Roberts announced that she was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS). MDS is a disease of the blood and bone marrow and was once known as preleukemia. It is said that it can be brought on by chemotherapy and radiation, treatments that Roberts underwent during her fight with breast cancer. “Sometimes the treatment for cancer can cause other serious medical problems,” Roberts said in her message on the ABC News website.

Robin Roberts said marrow donors “are scarce and particularly for African-American women,” she said. “I am very fortunate to have a sister who is an excellent match, and this greatly improves my chances for a cure.”

Unfortunately, the treatment that goes along with fighting cancer can have effects on the body to where a second cancer can occur at some point in time. I personally seen this with close family members affected by cancer. Once the cancer was in remission, it returned years later in another form. Even thought I haven’t physically been in the same situation as Roberts, I can sympathize with her and hope that with her strong will and fight, she will beat this round just like the last one.

Let this be an opportunity to bring awareness to cancer screening and bone marrow donation and how it can help save the lives of many, especially among African American women.

Justin Combs, son of Sean “Diddy” Combs received a full athletic scholarship from UCLA for $54,000. Some are criticizing the situation saying that Justin should not accept the scholarship. If your dad was Sean ‘Diddy” Combs who is according to Forbes Magazine he is one of the wealthiest artists in Hip-Hop, it’s apparent that you do not need the scholarship in order to pursue your education. Why not give the scholarship to someone who really can benefit from it? People get the impression that this scholarship was taking away from those in financial need when it comes to funding for their college education.

A rep from the university tells E! News, “Unlike need-based scholarships, athletic scholarships are awarded to students strictly on the basis of their athletic and academic ability—not their financial need. Athletic scholarships, such as those awarded to football or basketball players, do not rely on state funds. Instead, these scholarships are entirely funded through UCLA Athletics ticket sales, corporate partnerships, media contracts and private donations from supporters.”

Other reports mention that maybe Diddy should give the school a donation in return. What do you think? I understand that the scholarship was not just handed to him. Justin did what he needed to do in order to earn it. Justin graduated from New Rochelle Iona Prep in New York with a 3.75 GPA. He also got scholarship offers from Illinois, Virginia and Wyoming. If you come from a wealthy family that can effortlessly afford to pay for your education, why not consider donating the award to someone who can really benefit from the assistance. I think it would be a very generous gesture if Justin donated his scholarship to someone who can truly benefit and may not have the same opportunity because of their financial situation. We all know that pursing a college education can be very expensive. If you are blessed with a privilege lifestyle and did not have to worry about anything growing up financial wise, why not try and give someone who is in need an opportunity that many strive to achieve. Ochocinco is no longer apart of the New England Patriots. Is that a big surprised? Look at his performance last season. Ochocino caught 15 passes for 276 yards and a touchdown. I’m not the greatest when it comes to following sports but those numbers just sound bad lol. Even though he was with the team for one season and it may not have been one of his best seasons, he did receive $5.7 million.

Chad took to Twitter with the news. He tweeted:

“Thoroughly enjoyed the oppurtunity to play for the `Patriot’ organization… fans were … wicked awesome, I wish all of you the best,”

“I’m healthy n living life, I’ll be fine,”

He then changed his job description to “UNEMPLOYED BLACK GUY” and changed his Avatar to a picture of himself sitting on a suitcase at the airport, looking like he’s hitchhiking.

Chad’s fiancé Evelyn Lozada also took to twitter and had this to say, “Aww baby you got cut @ochocinco I got your back! I’m the bread winner now, which means I make the rules!” Some people may see her comment as a hit to his ego. From the type of relationship that has been displayed in the media, I think it was all in fun and no hard feelings were really taken by her tweet. (Information obtained from SI.com)

It looks like there is more top Kim Kardashian and Kanye West relationship. West is letting the “mom-a-ger” of the family manager their career. Yes that’s right. Kanye West who has been publicly linked to Kim Kardashian since April has decided to let Jenner manager his career.

According to Media Takeout, The insider explained “Kris [Jenner] is amazing in what she can get. If you’re a [sic] celeb, she can get you big money for tweeting, for sitting at fashion show, for doing interviews … It was an easy sell, Kanye was like ‘sure. But Kris Jenner will reportedly be handling more than just publicity and appearances for Kanye and Kris will be helping Kanye get his DONDA fashion line distributed internationally at major retailers. “That’s where [Kris] can make a fortune of Kanye.” Managers typically take between 20% and 30% of revenue generated by an artist.

Just looking back at the whole relationship since they decided to go public, this can not be more than just a publicity stunt. Once minute, Kim is in love with Kris Humphries and the two get married. After 72 days of being married, the two are no longer right for each other. The he divorce is not even finalized and she is in love and planning a future with West.  I know people fall in love fast and they fall hard but come one now. After only 72 days, you end one relationship and jump right into another and all the media attention is on you. Yes I do believe it’s all about wanting that extra attention, especially when the paparazzi is always there when you make every move. In the industry that those two are in, the more people know you, the more opportunities they have to be seen, heard, and make more money. (Information obtain from http://usmagazine.com )

Early this Sunday morning the worlds fastest man Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt was involved in that was described as a fender bender as reported by SI.com.

Authorities say around 5 a.m. local time that they believed Bolt lost control of his BMW and swerved into guard rails and they are still investigating the accident.

Bolts’ publicist told the Associated Press;

“There were no injuries at all. He is fine and resting at home”

Asafa Powell friend and teammate was in another vehicle that was also in at the scene of the accident and took to twitter to inform the public on the status of his friend;

Anytime an athlete is in an accident we hope they come away unharmed and from the looks of it, Bolt is ok. Hopefully, this was just a freak accident since there was no mention of drugs or alcohol being involved. Perhaps the fastest man on the planet should do like Pinky’s driver in Next Friday and hit those corners a little slower.

While the rumors of Manny Pacquiao having financial troubles has been floating around, there are now reports that Pacquiao is suing his former accountants VisionQwest Group according to TMZ.

Pacquiao was originially sued for not paying for services rendered. In his countersuit Pacquiao alleges VisionQwest Group gave him “substandard accounting and tax service” Pacquiao hired lawyer Dan Petrocelli who reigned victorious over OJ Simpson in his civil trial.

More and more lately we’ve been hearing of athletes having financial troubles, Terrell Owens and now Pacquiao, sooner or later athletes are going to have to be more hands on when it comes to their finances. Considering Pacquiao is also a congressman in the Philippines you would think he would’ve found somebody to keep his finances in order. Hopefully he doesn’t end up like other boxers fighting well past their prime just to get a check.

After OTA’s Dolphins first year coach Joe Philbin announced that the Dolphins will be featured on the newest season of HBOs’ Hard Knocks.

When asked about the reasons they chose to be featured on the show Philbin had this to say;

“Number one it was a football decision and it was made by the football operations staff. Our owner, Steve Ross, supported our decision but in no way, shape or form forced us to make this decision. I’m personally very excited about it and I shared my thoughts about it with our football team this morning. It’s a football show and it’s a show that’s going to showcase our players and the great group of men that we have assembled here in Miami as they go through training camp.

“The second thing is I think it’s a great opportunity for us to connect with our fans and to the people that aren’t going to be able to come out here on a daily basis in 110-degree heat index weather and watch our guys participate in training camp. The third thing is I think it’s a chance for us to show the new direction, the identity of this football team, where we’re headed and at the same time also connect with our past and the great history, tradition and heritage that we have here in Miami.” Courtesy of MiamiDolphins.com

The show will air its first episode on August 7th and will air on Tuesdays for 5 four hour episodes.

While the Dolphins may end up being an entertaining team for the world to see, as of today, besides Reggie Bush, I see nothing entertaining about this team. My choice would’ve been the New York Jets. Tim Tebow, Rex Ryan, it would’ve been a disaster waiting to happen, and I’m all for disaster and chaos in situations like these. Though I understand why the Jets would turn down the opportunity, I think it would’ve been a ratings bonanza.

Nonetheless, I will watch, since Reggie Bush is on the team we’ll get a Kim Kardashian cameo. I think that’s a backfield we can all enjoy.

The Boston Celtics had one of the best scoring quarters of any team in the playoffs putting up 35 points allowing them to go into halftime with the game. Outside of that sole quarter the Celtics though competitive were out played and looked like a team that was a step slow. The Celtics have had a great run, but there comes a time were all great teams have the torched ripped from their grasps.

That time for the Celtics is now.

The Heat beat the Celtics last year in 5 games, exercising demons that had haunted LeBron from his days in Cleveland where it seemed as if he couldn’t beat the proverbial big brother. Well the little brother has gotten better and went down to Miami to connect with his cousins and they are on their way to sending the Celtics home again for a second straight season.

However the Celtics have no reason to hang their head, with the odds against them they weren’t supposed to even make it this far. At the beginning of the season they miss out on free agent David West because David Stern and the NBA vetoed the Chris Paul trade which didn’t allow the Celtics and New Orleans Hornets to complete a sign and trade for West. Then the Celtics lose their young power forward Jeff Green for the season due to a heart condition. Make matters worse, during the season they lose another big man Chris Wilcox to a heart condition which would put him on the sidelines. Add insult to injury, Jermaine O’Neal gets injured and is eventually released. That’s three big men that you can’t completely replace. Factor in Paul Pierce and Ray Allen have been battling injuries all playoffs, it’s nothing short of a miracle that they have made it to the Eastern Conference Finals. And it goes to show you the kind of fight they have in them to persevere through all the turbulence of this lockout shortened season.

Nonetheless, all great runs come to an end. The 49ers in the late 80’s ran into the Giants and Cowboys of the 90’s only to rebound and win 1 more championship in 1994. Don’t forget the Detroit Pistons and Los Angeles Lakers ceding their dominance to M.J. to start his first 3peat. The Chicago Bulls even had to relinquish their strangle hold on the NBA once Michael Jordan and Phil Jackson left.

What the Celtics have done the last 5 years should be celebrated; 1 NBA championship, 2 NBA Finals appearances, never making it shorter than the second round of the playoffs, all this done while on the back end of your career. Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, and Paul Pierce all could’ve played elsewhere, made more money, and fed into their ego. However they put all that to the side to win, understanding that they could no longer do it alone after years of trying.

Yes, theoretically they still have a chance to win one more title, but the odds are clearly against them. Avery Bradley, their best perimeter defender is out the remainder of the playoffs, and Ray Allen is in one of the worse shooting slumps of his career. But instead of looking at the Celtics and feeling sorry for them, let’s celebrate what they have accomplished with skill and maturity. They play injured, hurt and shorthanded and still find a way to win through it all.

People grieve in their own way. No one deals with pain in the same manner. That is what makes people different. Jennifer Hudson finally received justice and can have peace of mind. Her ex brother -in-law William Balfour was convicted of murder on May 11, 2012 for killing Hudson’s mother, Darnell Donnerson 57; brother, Jason Hudson 29; and nephew, Julian King 7; on October 24, 2008. After the two week long trial and having to re live one of the worst days of her life, she decides to go to Six Flags the day after the trial ended. While listening to the TJMS (Tom Joyner Morning Show) the hosts felt like that was not a good move for Hudson. They didn’t see fit for her to go to an amusement park after the trial ended. I don’t see what the issue is. I see that as she is trying to put the past behind her and move on with her life. She just needed to have a carefree day from dealing with the two week trial and that is what she chose to do. It’s her life and her decisions.

It’s Official! Sheree is out and Kenya is in. Sheree Whitfield is leaving the cast of The Real Housewives of Atlanta and is being replaced by Former Miss USA 1993, Kenya Moore. Moore recently did an interview with Sister 2 Sister Magazine saying:

“I’ve had an opportunity recently to be on a reality show. I feel like it’s almost like my duty to take the job because it’s the converse of what we’re seeing now.”

“I can say that it’s an already established franchise. I’m back and forth between Atlanta and L.A….primarily Atlanta. Wink, wink!”

I am still trying to wrap my head around how cast members are selected for such shows. Come on now! The newest cast member is a model/actress. The show is called Real Housewives. Wouldn’t you think that picking a cast member that is actually a housewife be more fitting to the show?  I know the show turned in many directions since is first aired in 2008 but it seems like with every season there are more cast members that aren’t wives. Looking at the past season of the show, only 2 of the 6 cast members were married. I know life happens and relationships change end however, if you are going to keep the show and its current title, why not bring in new people that fit the show and its title.

For every father with daughters, they’re worse nightmare is for their “baby” to be overly sexy in their presence. The thought of their “baby” taking part in such activities is something that can scare a man for the rest of his life.

Well, Wayne Gretzky has had his world scarred forever, as his “baby” girl has been on social media letting it all hang out. Paulina Gretzky first started on Twitter with the racy photos and once dad shut that down, she moved the party over to Instagram and well… I’ll let you make your decision on what to think.

I can only imagine what’s going through Waynes’ mind, I mean what can he really do, his daughter is grown, and at this point he has no control and power. He cant just roll up on her in the spot, everybody knows who he is, so being Columbo won’t work. The more he tries to convince her that this is a bad look, the more rebellious she will act.

The great one rarely faced a challenge on the ice he couldn’t master, however this parenting of a young adult is kicking his tail with an empty net. Hopefully Paulina takes some sympathy on dad and tones it down a bit, until that day comes enjoy some of flicks she’s been posting.

I, sole proprietor of JbSmooth84.com am an honorable guy. I pay my taxes, help old ladies cross the street. I mean I’m a good dude. So I’m here to pay my debt. I lost a bet to a guy on Twitter named Keith (@brksfromthepnd).

The bet was, whether Tim Tebow would win a playoff game or not. Well… I took the he would not side of that bet and well I have to now pay the piper.

Let this be a lesson, there’s no such thing as a sure bet.

The payback; I had to take a picture ‘Tebowing’. So because the Pittsburgh Steelers decided to play the worse defense ever, I’m here to pay off my debt.

On May 15th Beyonce will receive a Journalism award at the 24th Annual Scholarship and Awards Banquet on behalf of The New York Association for Black Journalists. The event is to recognize the work of over 40 journalist and special recognition to former diversity advocate Robert Naylor. Beyonce is honored for her cover story that was featured in the July 2011 issue of Essence Magazine. Since the announcement was made, many have questioned how she can receive such an honor for an article in many opinions, to be a diary entry about a nine month vacation. Considering the prestige of such an award, do you really think an article about time away from your career is worth being in the same category as someone who advocated for the minorities in the news industry?
