While many think Cleveland fans have yet to move on from LeBron and his decision, I’d say people won’t stop mentioning Cleveland when they talk about LeBron. However, in the video below hometown favorites rap artist Machine Gun Kelly and Cleveland Brown Josh Cribbs converse about LeBron and how they could never see themselves abandoning Cleveland as their home.

Cribbs also goes to allude that LeBron was on the ‘wrong path’ when he chose to go to Miami. I wonder if he feels the same now that LeBron has won his first title?

The only thing I would question about this video, Cribbs and LeBron are still friends, from time to time you’ll see a picture of them together pop up. With Cribbs making such remarks, just comes off a little as pandering to your current fan base.

Plenty of people have a bucket list of things they want to accomplish and football players are no different. Jason Babin defensive lineman for the Philadelphia Eagles tells the Philadelphia Inquirer that he wants to travel to Spain and run with the bulls. To the question of why would one want to run with the bulls Babin had this to say;

“It’s kind of a rite of passage it’s a stamp. I guess in my brain I have a figurative ‘man card’ that’s got certain punches that need to be punched out.”

Babin also has answers to those who say it’s dangerous and he shouldn’t risk potential injury;

“Everyone thinks it’s dangerous and hazardous, but it’s not, if done correctly and soberly. Bulls can’t turn the corner on cobblestone, so as long as you’re on the inside you’re going to be all right, I broke the tape down like game film.”

Now I’ve never wanted to run with the bulls, to damn dangerous in my opinion, however that’s what makes athletes different. Their thought process is not the same, and in some areas they’re more fearless, and that’s what allows them to be more successful in their field. So if he wants to do it then go ahead more power to ya. Hopefully he doesn’t get injured and if he’s studied tape of it like he would do Tony Romo then he should be fine. I mean he’s an eagle so I’m sure if he gets in trouble he can just fly away.

Players play their entire career for primarily two things, money to take care of their family, and to win a championship. When a team wins a championship they’ll usually give their employees a bonus, even better they’ll give them a championship ring too.

Well apparently one Green Bay Packer employee would’ve opted for the money, as team Employee Sarah Pace sold her Super Bowl XLV ring to a pawn shop in Grand Chute, Wisconsin according to ProFootballTalk.com. It was purchased by 71 year old Packer fan Dennis Brucks. As for how he feels about now having an authentic Super Bowl ring he had this to say;

“When you want something relating to the Packers, how can you get any better than this?”

Must be pretty cool to have that type of memorabilia, and couple that with witnessing the Ice Bowl in 1967 live he’s just about done everything there is for a Packer fan to do.

However, I know this has to make some all time greats that never won a ring salty that Pace would sell off their piece of history when they spent their entire career chasing the ultimate goal. Hopefully Pace isn’t going through grave financial troubles and that’s why she sold it. Perhaps she just isn’t a football and just didn’t see that value in keeping it.

After OTA’s Dolphins first year coach Joe Philbin announced that the Dolphins will be featured on the newest season of HBOs’ Hard Knocks.

When asked about the reasons they chose to be featured on the show Philbin had this to say;

“Number one it was a football decision and it was made by the football operations staff. Our owner, Steve Ross, supported our decision but in no way, shape or form forced us to make this decision. I’m personally very excited about it and I shared my thoughts about it with our football team this morning. It’s a football show and it’s a show that’s going to showcase our players and the great group of men that we have assembled here in Miami as they go through training camp.

“The second thing is I think it’s a great opportunity for us to connect with our fans and to the people that aren’t going to be able to come out here on a daily basis in 110-degree heat index weather and watch our guys participate in training camp. The third thing is I think it’s a chance for us to show the new direction, the identity of this football team, where we’re headed and at the same time also connect with our past and the great history, tradition and heritage that we have here in Miami.” Courtesy of MiamiDolphins.com

The show will air its first episode on August 7th and will air on Tuesdays for 5 four hour episodes.

While the Dolphins may end up being an entertaining team for the world to see, as of today, besides Reggie Bush, I see nothing entertaining about this team. My choice would’ve been the New York Jets. Tim Tebow, Rex Ryan, it would’ve been a disaster waiting to happen, and I’m all for disaster and chaos in situations like these. Though I understand why the Jets would turn down the opportunity, I think it would’ve been a ratings bonanza.

Nonetheless, I will watch, since Reggie Bush is on the team we’ll get a Kim Kardashian cameo. I think that’s a backfield we can all enjoy.

Man of my Word

I, sole proprietor of JbSmooth84.com am an honorable guy. I pay my taxes, help old ladies cross the street. I mean I’m a good dude. So I’m here to pay my debt. I lost a bet to a guy on Twitter named Keith (@brksfromthepnd).

The bet was, whether Tim Tebow would win a playoff game or not. Well… I took the he would not side of that bet and well I have to now pay the piper.

Let this be a lesson, there’s no such thing as a sure bet.

The payback; I had to take a picture ‘Tebowing’. So because the Pittsburgh Steelers decided to play the worse defense ever, I’m here to pay off my debt.

The Cleveland Browns made waves earlier in the day when they traded up to with the Minnesota Vikings to get the guy they wanted in Trent Richardson. Well the Browns weren’t done making noise in the draft as they selected Oklahoma State quarterback Brandon Weeden.

Many scouts and mock drafts had Weeden being selected in the 2nd; however the Browns chose to get their guy before anybody else had the chance to snatch him off the board.

As evident by today’s action, the Browns were bound and determined to get the guys they wanted, and they landed both of them.

With the Browns drafting Weeden in the first round, all signs point to Colt McCoy not being the incumbent starter and Weeden having a legit shot at starting on opening day. Weeden will hopefully have some more weapons alongside him and Richardson to help turn around an offensive that was dreadful last season.

With all the activity the Browns have shown thus far, it’ll be interesting to see how they proceed with the 2nd round of the NFL Draft. They still need a wide receiver and help on the right side of the offensive line, so let’s see what Gm Tom Heckert does to upgrade the team.

Below are the picks the Browns have remaining in the 2012 NFL Draft.

Round 2, Pick 5 (37)

Round 3, Pick 4 (67)

Round 4, Pick 5 (100)

Round 5, Pick 25 (160) (From Broncos)

Round 6, Pick 34 (204) (Compensatory selection), Round 6, Pick 35 (205) (Compensatory selection)

Round 7, Pick 38 (245) (Compensatory selection), Round 7, Pick 40 (247) (Compensatory selection)

For years the Browns have been searching for an indentity and it seems they have finally found one.

For all you searching for it, here’s a picture of Trent in a Browns uniform. Finally, someone other teams have to prepare for.

The Cleveland Browns moved up one spot trading picks in the 4th, 5th and 7th round and the number 4 pick overall to Minnesota Vikings for the 3rd pick.

The Browns went after their guy not allowing teams like the Buccaneers or Rams to move up and draft the new running back of the Browns Trent Richardson.

Now the fireworks aren’t over for the Browns as they still have the 22nd puck in the draft and with then already being aggressive, I wouldn’t rule out anything at this point.

Congratulations Tent Richardson and welcome to Cleveland.

EA Sports announced the new cover for Madden 13 and via vote through ESPN Sportsnation, Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson will grace this year’s cover to the hollowed sports game.

Now we all know the history behind the Madden cover curse, hopefully Calvin Johnson won’t fall victim to it this year. However, if he was to now be cursed, I wonder what would happen to him. Would he just up and retire like Barry Sanders did, and send the franchise back into a downturn. Will he go Latrell Sprewell and choke a coach or punch quarterback Matt Stafford in the face?

Could he be just flat out disrespectful and drive a Chevy truck to work and park it in Mr. Fords’ parking space, leading to him being escorted out of the facility. Who know?

Just kidding, hopefully nothing happens to Megatron and he puts the curse to bed.
